[Caller ID-ID Voice]

The ID Voice is a 2-line, external voice response device which is controlled by software on a host computer. The unit allows an easy way to capture data from remote users. Upon receiving a phone call, simple commands sent from the host computer instruct the unit to play recorded voice prompts on the phone line and collect touch tone (DTMF) input from users. Caller ID is always captured so the phone number from which the user is calling can be verified. All input and output from the ID Voice is ACSII text enabling straightforward development for software programmers.
The ID Voice contains voice file storage for each channel.  Voice prompts can be directly recorded to the unit with a telephone or voice files can be downloaded via RS232.  During operation, the controlling application simply needs to instruct the unit as to which file to play. Two independent phone line channels allow playing voice files and capturing data from 2 callers simultaneously.  It also allows for application flexibility.  You can either program both channels for the same application or run two different applications, one on each channel.


Operations

The ID Voice performs the following functions:

  • Answer incoming phone calls
  • Captures Caller ID
  • Stores messages and voice prompts
  • Plays any voice file instructed by the application
  • Reports DTMF didgits collected
  • Allows validation of input by application
  • Disconnects the phone call based upon program command
  • Plays system error message and hangs up call if host application is not operating
In response to the user input, your application would control what messages are played, what DTMF digits are expected, and how the unit will respond to incorrect input. Interfacing to the ID Voice from the host computer is accomplished via serial port or USB (using a converter cable).

Time and Attandance Application

One of the most popular uses of ID Voice is remote timekeeping of employees or contractors working from offsite locations. In this application, staff would call the office to both clock in and clock out. Employees can make these calls by using their cell phones, or in many cases, management will require them to call from the phone at the job site in order to verify their location with Caller ID. Time and attendance by employees and subcontractors working at remote locations can be tracked precisely using your application combined with the ID Voice unit.

callid Preset Data Collection - The application instructs the hardware how many digits are to be collected from the user at each stage of processing the call. Data sent to host only after the preset condition is met.
callid Built-in Error Handling - The unit will timeout and hang up the phone call for error conditions such as wrong amount of digits are collected, no input is entered by the caller, or the host application is not running.
callid International Caller ID Collection - ID voice will operate with Caller ID validation in virtually any country that sends Caller ID signaling.
