units can be used with any telephone system as long as the main phone
lines coming into the building are analog. Incoming phone lines plug
into the unit via modular input and output jacks (RJ11 and RJ14) so
phone connections are a snap. The unit connects the same way even if a
digital system, KSU, or PBX is present. If more convenient, units can
even be connected in parallel with incoming phone lines. Remote data
retrieval is accomplished by calling line 1, connecting with the
on-board modem, and downloading data with simple text commands. A
remote connection to the Scout modem can be accomplished 5 different
ways, so access to data is always available.
